Antonio Benítez Burraco

Antonio Benítez Burraco, one of the plenary speakers at the conference, is a linguist at the University of Seville who in his research combines his experience as a biologist and as a linguist. He is currently working on the biological foundations of human language, using genetic and neurobiological data. He is the author of El origen del lenguaje (2015, with Lluís Barceló-Coblijn) and Genes y lenguaje: aspectos ontogenéticos, filogenéticos y cognitivos (2009). At the conference, he will give a talk titled “Interdisciplinarity in Historical Linguistics Studies” (La interdisciplinariedad en los estudios de lingüística histórica).
